What's one's purpose for wearing a veil? Traditionally, the veil has meant many different things depending on each culture and religion. From a symbol of chastity to a token of protection to keep dark spirits from the wearer. Today we believe: the veil must follow the purpose of the individual who wears it. Here's a deconstruction of a wedding veil, in the search for the wearer's purpose. 

THE GATHERING

The wedding veil gathers on the top of the person who wears it. When does this adornment ritual takes place? A wedding: As the veil gathers, we gather. The netting to a comb, the comb to a head, the head to a body, one body to another, two bodies to a hundred, a hundred to a thousand, a thousand to them all. 

THE RITUAL .- (A celebration of life.)

We dance to the music, under the moon and the sky.

We dine fancy cooking, we share our wine.

We put on a long dress, we sing before dawn. 

We honour a new world, we leave and old one behind. 

MOVEMENT

The material: a lightweight fine flowing netting. A veil moves, therefor it is. Is the temporality of things that acknowledges us everlasting. Movement is joy. May the flow stays with the veil beholder and their loved ones. 

LIGHT

A wedding veil physical property: Transparency. A veil as a symbol of truth and shine. Allow the light to get in and let the truth shine out from within. Even in the darkest nights, the stars bright in the far.
